Wondering is someone fairly local to me (Ajax, ON) knows of a really good mechanic. I'm pretty picky. Car does not get driven in any other weather other than clear skies. Does not get left sitting outside. I would like a guy that really knows these older cars and I don't mind paying properly...
Sorry about the no price thing. I was thinking 100.00? But I'm actually going to remove this if I can figure out how. Since the majority of the people here are from the US it is difficult with payment especially since I don't use paypal.
I have a woodgrain dash bezel that was in my 70. I replaced it. Don't know if it is originally from a 70 or not. It is in good shape except a piece of plastic broken/missing at left bottom corner by screw location. other than that good shape. No broken tabs on back. If you are interested...
So I had my origional rs bumpers and a few other pieces chromed at the plating house of Canada. He has a lot of muscle car guys doing major restorations go there. He told me to paint the inside of the bumpers so it would be like factory. He said it would help protect from water but then said...
So I had some parts chromed. I got into a conversation with the owner and he said anyone with a nice car does not use water on their car if they don't drive it on a daily basis and actually get it dirty. He said they dust it off with a California duster and then use a waterless wash and wax to...
Thanks for the input. I guess I will prime and paint them. I never drive the car in the rain but I wash it. The guy that did the chrome told me not to wash the car. Just to give a good wax and then use a good detailing spray with a micro fiber cloth. That is also something I have to look into
I just had my split bumpers re chromed. The place that did them told me that I should paint the inside. What do you guys think and what kind of paint should I use. Here are a few pics. Thanks.
I made some calls this morning. Spoke to the plating house of Canada and Cambridge chrome. Cambridge is almost double the plating house. They want 2600.00 to do my split bumpers, grill surround and drip rail moldings. I knew it would not be cheap but did not expect that.
Would anyone happen to know of a good chrome platting company in and around the Toronto area. I am actually in Pickering, ON so Durham region would be best but don't mind driving a bit. I want to have my RS bumpers, Grill surround and roof drip moldings done.
I am going to be replacing my grill on a 70RS. I was thinking of getting this billet grill. Has anyone ever got one of these? What is it like and how does it fit? Below is a link and screenshot. Thanks...
I am looking for a left and right side pair of window regulators for my 70 camaro. Good used set. I want to get them from someone from Canada as shipping from the US right now can be a pain. Seems like stuff can be held up a border forever.
I picked up a new black dash/gauge bezel for my 70. It is made by OER. I have found out that my wiring and wiper switch is from a 76 car. The wiper switch won't fit. Would anyone know what wiper switch I could order to work and actually fit in this bezel? The switches I have found and look...
Looks like I found a much better product/fit. Got them from a place called "The Parts Place". They are in Dekalb Illinois. Part number WS6025Z 109.00. 1970 Camaro window felt kit inners and outers without chrome bead for cars with door reveal moldings. Much better then the PUI or other junk...
