I'm going to say straight up here. 1970 L34 camaros did not receive smog pumps. I've seen a lot of 70 L34 camaros. Also know these cars very well. Your build sheet does not have air in block 41 to say your was built with smog. Not trying to upset you but, I think you should start searching for...

Do you have the protecto plate for the car. It should have the assembly date and engine suffix on it? Also the cylinder head cast dates if original will give you a close time line of the original block.

Ok better question for you. What is the assembly date on the pad of the motor? The manifolds were installed when the engine was assembled at the tonawanda plant. Not on the assembly line. The cast date on the manifolds will need to be before the engine assembly date to be original to the motor...

Your manifold is a correct 70 smog manifold. What is the date cast on it on the reverse side? What is the Build date on the trim tag? Here is my L78 build block 41. it has Air typed in it to build the car with a air pump system. yours has L34 in it.

I'm agreeing with THNDER. The solid lifter L78 motor recieved smog pumps. Hydraulic lifter L34 didn't get those. Even California built L34 camaros.

Partial vin only is down by the oil filter. Assembly date and engine code suffix stamps are on the front pad. Both Assembly plants.

Norwood cars are stamped down by the oil filter rough cast area. Vanuys are mostly behind the alternator on the pad. Although for some reason the big block Vanuys cars can be both, But most ive seen are on the rough cast on big block engines were on the rough cast by the oil filter.

My 03C 70 vanuys L78 had a build sheet same location. Also a jig saw puzzle. I did put the puzzle together. It was quite a chore. It's the 2nd build sheet I have for it.
