Howdy, all! Hope you guys are doing OK, down there!
All good, up here,...dove baby is just starting to fly. Our pastures are rapidly becoming 'sparsely wooded grasslands'! The elms that I transplanted, years ago, are grown to 12 - 15', RM junipers are 3 - 6', and the older trees and shrubs have...
Closing? Well THAT really sucks,...my nephew has been racing there, for the past several years.
On a happier note,...the "three foot ponderosa", in the pasture (that my wife, and I, moved from where it accidentally came up in the front yard), has a mourning dove nest in it. It's only about 7'...
A full 6" on our deck,...drifts of about 2'. WE DID GOOD!
My pastures 'captured it nicely (they aren't bare, anymore - horses are gone), and it will add to the ground moisture that we'll need come July, when Mother Nature dries it up around here,...It is melting quickly, with the temps. My...
Almost got rid of most of the old snow, but now it's 12 F and is snowing again - we're only supposed to get about an 1", though. Warming up some, again, tomorrow,...
Drive carefully, guys!
Lots of melt, around here, yesterday - warmed enough for a return to some Mustang projects in my un-heated garage!
I'm ready for spring, anytime,...
Everyone have a good week.
Goodness! An inch and a half on top of old snow, and then another inch on top of that, last night. Nice!
I'm not use to a lot of snow in January,...and without a melt in between - weird.
Wow! Nearly 5", up here! 'Bout time that this area got stormed on again,...
My landscape and pasture plants are sure going to benefit from this!
Hope you're doing well, nutchevy!
I'm sure glad that everyone got some good snow - all of us need it for this coming spring/summer. I just hope that...
Again, with old snow still on the ground (unusual for Colorado!), we got another 1 - 2" of heavy snow today, rapidly turning to slush,...soaked right in - yay!
This is the moisture that our soil needs to carry us through late summer,...
Got about 2 - 3" of snow here last week/weekend,...still had some old snow on the ground - YAY!
I'm trying to SAVE as much of this ground-moisture as possible, for summer!
Happy new year, all! Hope that it is better than the last,...
48 F to 10 F in 90 minutes yesterday afternoon. -21 F this morning and made it to -6 F for the high,...-18 F, right now.
At least we got about 2 - 3" of snow,...!
I think that it is more than a rare occurrence, now. I'd say it's "settled in",...
I don't think we are in a "Megadrought" anymore, either - I think this is the way it's gonna be,...until it dries up more. It will just keep getting worse, unless something gets done.
Climate change sucks,...and...
Hey! While you guys got 2", we had some frost, but nothing more,...yesterday and last night we got about 2"!! Only real moisture in nearly 2 months,...
-5 F this AM - a little cold for mid-November,...yipes!
At least we got about 1/2" of snow,...it did stay, and melted on the ground. The wind is blowing the last of the leaves off of the trees today,...
I sure wish TFF could see the young, wooded-area that I've grown - from pretty much bare-dirt pasture,...I could never have done this when we had...
Wow, Keith,...moving in! Cool! And congrats, too,...Hope your landscaping is still doing well!
Four years later, and my pastures are three foot deep in kochia. The 'seedling elms' are ten feet,...RMJs are 3.5 - 4'. The "3.5' ponderosa" (that we transplanted) is 7', now. 72 plantings going...
Doing as well as can be expected here, nutchevy,...thanks!
I hope everyone is doing well, also!
Leaves turning,...freezing temps coming up soon. Beautiful in the high country!
In between vehicle projects at the moment,...
