Oh yeah. I’m too picky to just slap it together and roll with it lol. I have people all the time just get it close and paint it. I at least want to get it the best I can with my abilities. So far it’s turned out pretty good. Yeah I miss this forum vs the Facebook group. Doesn’t have the...
Yeah man I’ve been at it for a little bit lol
Right, investing in some better tools and alittle more knowledge have really helped with getting things reworked better than before.
Hey man. I’ll be honest I always wondered why it took people so long to get one done when they did it in their free time… now unfortunately I’m that person lol. But I guess can’t beat myself up for lost time just get it done with is about all I can do.
I do enjoy it but I’m so ready for it...
Getting closer, Skimmed and blocked the area. Still needs fine tuning with some feather fill and primer but I think it has turned out well.
Went ahead and put some epoxy on to seal up the metal and filler before the rain set in.
Absolutely, I hit it with epoxy and then a thin layer of seam sealer where the old stud welder studs were. I sanded the filler and just reskimmed it for a couple small low spots. It’s turning out really nice.
Thanks I really appreciate it. I was pretty impressed how much came back out.
I did a skim coat of filler this afternoon. To see where I’m at with everything.
Spent a couple hours working on the quarter tonight. Tried the shrinking disc tonight.
Pretty much all of the stretched metal under the body line is gone. I have to weld a couple pin holes from where the old pins moved being hammered and dollied. Then I need to hit one small spot with a...
Been a little bit since my last update. Part of me dreaded tackling this quarter panel area again and the other part of me had no idea how I would make it better than it was.
So I started doing some side work to pick up some better tools than I currently had. So I ordered a set of shrinking...
Hey everyone. Happy New Year. Last couple months have been a bit chaotic but I’m still slowly pushing forward. Tossed the fenders and hood on the car to check fitment. Over all it looks pretty good. It’s nice seeing it start to look like a car again.
I needed a break from messing with...
Went to a big flea market today and picked up a few new pieces for the shop.
I’ve always wanted an old exit sign and from what I’ve read this one is possibly from the 50s. Either way I think it’s pretty freaking cool.
Little man approves
Hey Clay. Yeah I drilled them on both sides. They got me close but not perfect. I know it was probably user error but for the most part it was worth it. Still need to tweak them slightly but I’d say they are 90-95% lined up.
I figured I could just put a small dab of seam sealer and wipe...
Got the doors mounted back up. Had a couple chips on the hinges from driving the door pins in but nothing that can’t be touched up. I ended up blasting the pins and just putting epoxy primer on them. The clear coat was just to thick to go through the bushings. The doors need to be tweaked...
