    1972 Z28 RS

My equation was how many M22's out of all manual shift Z's. Your equation was how many M22 of all Z's.

    1972 Z28 RS

I am surprised the high rate of M22 vs M21 for Canadian cars, 45% of manual trans being M22. I don't find the ratio that high for US cars advertised as 4 speed Z's. Maybe some people don't know that have a crusher, and or original trans is gone? 1- Total units imported - 2,100 out of 68,651...

    70Z, lots of options

This was the reason for the Pside fender stamping, the short lived air induction for late 74 / 75 air induction

Why I will always personally inspect a car prior to purchase, 1970 Z

I don't disagree with this stance although, if selling a performance vehicle, do you demonstrate its performance? If so, great. But if not, what would be accepted from a buyer's standpoint,, just hearing the exhaust and assume the horsepower behind the rumble? To me, it's apparent some level of...

Why I will always personally inspect a car prior to purchase, 1970 Z

That's the lesson I learned although the buyer is still susceptible to the seller saying sure, "I'll go thru the gears a couple of times", but then the test turns into Driving Miss Daisy.

Why I will always personally inspect a car prior to purchase, 1970 Z

COPO, I agree 100%, that would be sufficient to make the sale, and not even 6k, 5k would do. During the mellow driving, let go of the wheel to show it drives straight, as well hit the brakes to show it doesn't pull, after that, the money comes out of my pocket.

Why I will always personally inspect a car prior to purchase, 1970 Z

Fair enough and I also agree but, what would a potential buyer be expected to be satisfied with if the seller won't even hit 3k RPM's, even after being asked, "do you ever shift at 4k?", and the response is a snicker, while the person in the passenger seat is holding the advertised price in his...

Why I will always personally inspect a car prior to purchase, 1970 Z

I agree, out of sight out of mind for most potential buyers. I assume to get to test drive, one would need to agree to pay full price and never press the pedal on the right to a level not agreed upon prior, although anybody could lie to those questions and see where the chips fall. A local buyer...

Why I will always personally inspect a car prior to purchase, 1970 Z

I realize I am likely preaching to the choir on buying a car which is distant, but nonetheless, I thought I would describe my recent experience. I traveled multiple states to look at a supposed 70Z, for likely purchase. It's an LA Z thus no cowl tag Z data, no build sheet and the front pad...

Is it possible to swap out upper header on a 70 RS, without scratching surrounding parts?

BA, what is the reason for the piece-meal parts swap?

Is it possible to swap out upper header on a 70 RS, without scratching surrounding parts?

So BA, you swapped upper headers after initial assembly was complete? After swap, all body lines retained their desired positions? Just worried, sometimes you take the jigsaw apart, it doesn't always go back together as nice. Thanks again.

Is it possible to swap out upper header on a 70 RS, without scratching surrounding parts?

Thanks BA, I was hoping you would respond, so much so when I wrote my question I said to myself, I bet BA responds considering his expertise with RS noses.
