Im swapping the rear end on my 70.

Its got the factory 8.2 10 bolt.
I found a 3.08 COS code 12 bolt from a 70 SS350 and had it rebuilt by a local builder.

The question is, will it be a direct swap or will i have to buy a special u-joint for it.

I had a factory 3 series posi unit installed too.

10 bolt and 12 bolt used the same drive shaft and same 1310 U joint. A few special bolt rear ends were built with the 1330 yoke, but they are not very common.

That's a Yukon Dura Grip, not a Eaton Posi. Factory differential was the Eaton. The Yukon is almost an exact copy of the Eaton.

Thanks. Ok. I thought i was factory, but i looked at receipt and you are correct.

When i talked to him i was under the impression it would be a GM unit.

But all the same i guess. As long as both tires spin. Lol

There is nothing wrong with the Yukon unit. Eaton parts interchange with it, so if you ever need to replace anything in it you can get Yukon or Eaton parts for it.

You had it rebuilt? Did you upgrade the yoke?
