I'm interested in buying 15x8 corvette type rally wheels for my 73. I seen some for sale with a 4.25 backspacing. I don't want the wheels sticking out. Is 4.25 backspace enough?

Do 1st gens have less room than 2nd gens as far as wheels go?

15x8 for front and rear? 4.25 may be close depending on tire size. Most run 4.5 bs.

It would be for both front and back.

Factory 15X8" Corvette Rally style wheels are all 4.25" back spacing and fit easily on 2nd Gen Camaros. The N90 style wheels were also 4.25" back spacing. A 235/60R15 tire works good on all 4 corners.

Awesome. Now do you think 255 or 275 would fit?

Yeppir.... 275 is getting pretty tall for the front, though. I have a 79 Bird with 255/60s on the front and 275/60s on the back and it looks pretty good.

On the rear - 4.25" BS will most likely work for 275's.

On the front - 4.25" BS on a 15x8" rim will most likely not work with 255's.

As posted by GoldenOne - a 235/60/15 will work on the front. 245 - maybe - but I think that would be the limit.

Thanks for the response fellas. I'm going to buy 15x8 4.25 BS for the rear and 15x7 4.25 BS for the front. For tires the rear will be 255/60 and front 235/60. I think that will fit and look perfect.

295's fit. It's just what you want for the size.
