with those size rims most go with 245/45/17 front and 275/40/17 rear. But those sizes should work but would be alittle narrow for those wheels.

I would go 245/40/17 in the front, and 275/40/17 out back

i went with the 245/40/17 in the front, and 275/40/17...dont rub at all, but wish i would have went with a 245/45/17, and 275/45/17, just to get a bit more sidewall. the 40's are cool, but look a little small. I've seen guys run 285's out back, but the wheel offset better be perfect (not sure what offset on stock rearend, since i put in a '80 T/A rear disc rearend...just measured what i needed) , or they mite rub

I like the 45 better than the 40 for the sidewall reason also

    I have
    245/45/17 with 4.5" backspacing on 17x8" front's
275/40/17 with 5.5" (IIRC) backspacing on 17x9.5" rears

So I think it will be fine.
I'd suggest getting the biggest tires ya can though.
I have zero rubbing issues with the Hotchkis TVS and before it I had none either.
It's all about the proper backspacing.
