Was there ever a 1970 Camaro rs z/28 with a turbo 400 trans. available
with a column shift?
yes. Console was an option for all cars and if you did not option the console you got a column shift. There were no floor shift automatic shifters without the console unlike the manual transmissions. There aren't many Z28's like this, but known examples exist.
Here's a 70 Z28 with the column shift. Some of the links don't work anymore, but the Photobucket one seems to be working.
By the way...the poll is pretty confusing.
Yes for sure in 1971 and probably 1970 also. I bought my Z new in 1971 and it came standard with column shifter if you ordered the optional TH400. Console shifter was optional. Being poor back then, I settled for the column shifter.
Yes, I've seen a couple of examples, one was original owner.
I've mentioned this before,I stumbled across a 70 column shift car in a yard years ago [not a z] but it had a tilt steering column,so they made those too-Later Steve!!
