If anyone could post a picture of a vintage OEM emblem for a 1970 Camaro I would greatly appreciate it. I am seeing them listed on EBay but they do not have the additional indentation around the emblem. Thanks!
I replied to your PM last night and gave you a link of mine on my website this morning. Maybe PM’s are not working at your end. My orig on my 70 Z28 unrestored car. Norwood 05E.
Thanks for your reply, did you see the post by badazz81z28, was there multiple designs during the 70 production year??
There were 2 different designs that I know of in 1970. Not sure if there was a change over during the model year or 2 different suppliers? When I restored my car I purchased a reproduction header emblem but it was different than my original so I returned it. Ended up having my original re-chromed. Both versions had black paint in the recessed areas.
Its my understanding this is another "early" vs "late" in production variation. Probably different manufacturer. Mine did have black paint, you can kind of see it...but my car lived in California and sat out side for all its life and its washed out.
This is a picture of my original 04A Van Nuys emblem with original 1970 black paint. The paint was done so well it never needed a touchup yet.
Looks pretty good! I'm happy with my repop, with the solid border. I just passed on my original to a fellow owner.
Thanks for your input! I have a 04D Norwood, so who knows which one originally came on it, maybe the one that on it is correct. I don’t know why but for some reason I’m not getting the email notification when someone replies to my post, any ideas?
