I decided to pull rally rims off to blast and paint. I will be mixing up a batch flat black for the dash, I will epoxy the rims and then hit with flat black. My plan is to eventually go with 18s, but im going to wait until the rest for the car is done , or until I can find me a sugar momma. Took them to discount tire and they dismounted them for free. Ill work on blasting the rims in next week or so.
"Not a show car" is my mantra but I seem to have to have a hard time letting things go. Awesome project my friend!
Thanks! My biggest issue is doing things twice, its a pet peeve. So Ill do more work up front if I have to! Its a fun process, but I wanna drive this thing!
M My neighbour who is a paint guy suggested I take 10 days and give it a paint job. That was almost 3 years ago. Lol. This summer it will be on the road.
Been off away from computer for holiday, I spend all day , every day on a computer, so I've been a bit behind on the blog taking a break working on car I'll try to catch up. A while back i started messing with trying to cleanup nuts and bolts. I tried several different methods, and the best I found was black oxide method. There is another thread on this that I'll update too. Started with handful of rusty bolts Sand blasted with medium glass after coating, sprayed then liberally with T9 Finished product looks brand new!
I had a spot in the wheel well that needed to be cut out, since I had wheels off this was a good time to fix. I cut a piece of metal to fit area I cut out, bent it to shape, clamped and welded I put a skim coat of all-metal on it , guess I didn't take picture of that
Now getting rest of body ready for another coat of epoxy. Sand light 80 grit where I can, and scuff pad rest.
