I'm looking for pictures of how the Brake return spring is mounted in my 70 RS manual transmission car. The pedal has a pin to attach the tab for the spring but he main bracket the the pedal mount to has a cross piece for the clutch bumper that is in the way. then there is a bolt that has a bracket for the brake light switch. And I don't know if I can interchange them. Any help of pictures would be great.

Thanks, I will have to try it again this weekend. I know I've had other things be troublesome because it being an early 70, GM mixed in some 69 stuff and it

makes assembly a pain. ie the rear leaf spring bushings for 70-81 were way to thick and I talked with Energy Suspension for 2 weeks before they agreed and sent the bushings for 67-69 and they fit perfect.
Thanks for the help I'll keep you posted!!

The 70 was a clean sheet design. It doesn’t share parts with the 69. If the part fits a 70, it fits a 70-73.
when i disassembled my 71 i took a lot of pics also looking at what might have been changed and so forth. it did not look like my column had been removed before, but the guy that was rebuilding it showed me when i took it to him that it had a date stamp .it was 1969 date.

I'm sure you know, many parts on the 70 Camaro, even the 71 because of production, easily had parts manufactured in 1969. The parts were made before the car was, but I'm sure you also know a 1969 Camaro column is not the same as a 70-81 column. I do have doubts, because of how many 70s were produced, a 71 wouldn't likely have parts manufactured in 69, but who knows.

looks like your car has power brakes, the spring is only for cars with manual brakes.
