I've done some searching, and haven't really found what i'm looking for. Anyone put in a roll cage with stock 1970 seats? How did you set up seat belts or harness? pictures?

thanks!

A roll cage needs the cross bar at or just below the drivers shoulders to be most effective . And is the required location for the 5 point harness

I'm curious if stock seats will work with a legal roll cage since the stock seats lower than regular buckets. I've started buying parts for my seats, and I would like to put a cage in while ive got everything out.

The cage has to be built to your body measurements , all depends on your shoulder height minus 6" when sitting in your preferred driving position . this dictates the exact location of the cross bar

Is that legal for inspection? I've been searching for cage requirements, and have found a lot dealing with the actual cage, but not much about the seats. My goal is 11 seconds or better. I'm not sure what ill end up doing, but I want to plan ahead, so its not a one and done at the track.

I would contact your local NHRA. DIvisional office for more info . I do know that low back seats with a cage and in a 11 sec or faster you do need a head restraint attached to the cage
