Anybody have an estimate of how much it would take to paint 5 wheels? Would a pint of the lacquer be enough? Just the outside. The inside of the wheel is gray and gets painted first.

A pint is more than enough to paint the outside of the wheels. The paint can shown in my picture I posted is a pint. I painted 8 wheels from that can. I used a small touchup gun to avoid wasting paint with overspray as much as possible.

    Wheels on my 70 Z28 I don’t think they have ever been repainted. F80F4F23-020E-44C0-B0F3-28B76493A1E2.jpeg A9D4D3A8-B6AB-4299-8646-292F735C325A.jpeg 38586278-2BF6-4627-9EF0-5932A0A3D45C.jpeg 17924F88-F38B-4EB5-9615-C86BD2921D48.jpeg 9D9D2BEE-7FE1-4ECF-A44C-BC48799A17DD.jpeg

I used OER part K89310 shadow gray and its a perfect match for color, texture and sheen. I bead blasted the wheels to bare metal and painted straight over the bare steel. I’ve had it on the wheels for 4 years and it still looks great. It was formulated for our application. 1970-1981 steel mags. I have it on my 70 z28 and it looks great.

Looking at some of the other members wheel pictures my power coating on my 71 may be a little darker than others I had my wheels done at a local Dallas powder coater they sand blasted them and they look great

The color is probably OK. Your camera and the lighting makes every picture a different shade. You can't judge color by what you see on a computer.
