I think they look great, but I'm biased. The rims that will be going on my 73Z look just like yours. The place that did them for me showed me a couple of shades and I went with the darker shade. They also added some pearl. Looks much better since the car is light copper. I put two of the original rims on the car with the factory paint and just didn't like it.
My 71 is white with black stripes and those rims are black. Looks mean.
I've just never been a fan of the original gray color. To me, it just doesn't seem to go with any body color but silver, especially if you have stripes. I don't want three different colors on a car plus chrome.

From what I've seen, even the factory wheels varied somewhat in shade. And, as the years passed, all of them faded to the point that none of the originals are original color today. All we can do today is try to paint them with a close shade of gray and the right texture in the paint. That way we keep them close to original. I found that when I painted them with a new coat of Ditzler DDL32961, they are darker than the old faded paint you sometimes see on wheels with original paint. But, I'll bet that the newly painted ones will also fade as the years pass.

The old paints didn't have the UV resistance that the clear coats have built into them today, thus the fading.

Probably the best reference is the 1100 mile Z28 as it was garage stored all its life. Even then, you may have to visit it in person as different cameras, lighting, computer monitors etc can make it a challenge to compare. It seems like the DDL32961 constantly comes up as THE reference for this, so that is what I am using.

Mine are not powdercoated. They were painted at Bombshell Speed & Custom Shop in Elgin, TX (about a half hour from my house). They used the Ditzler code and came up with several shade options.

HERE IS WHAT THE SEM TEXTURE COAT 39853 LOOKS LIKE WITHOUT TOP COAT.
IT was $28 a can - 1 can will do 8 wheels with texture like below.

So 1 can would do 5 wheels and a dash top.

5DFD1ACD-AB14-4E00-8336-0EB7C00EDEC8.jpeg Here are the wheels I did with classic’s wheel paint. I really don’t know if this looks original but it’s what I have now
