Buy what you like ....not what others think you should like . I don’t like a lot of older cars ..I’m not a fan of chrome , never was.
I’m the same I loved the 1974 Camaro and corvette when it came out , it was in the show rooms when I got my permit . They were my first cars I still love em .

    If I didn’t have my 70 Z28 and had a ‘72 but loved the ‘76 I’d go for the ‘76.
Just like I ordered my very 1st new car being a 1977 Z28 4 speed.
If both were in front of me I’d buy the 77 Z28.

I’d trade three 76 camaros for one 70-73 camaro but that’s my vote.

At the end of the day it’s really your call

I would sell the 72 to maximize the value and then use the money to find that 76 you always wanted.

Over time they both will gain value but the 72 will always be worth more. I’m personally not a fan of the years the government mandated a bunch of crap that added weight and reduced performance. I yawn when I see a bloated, overweight z28 with plastic bumpers, a 305, and silly graphics but that’s me. 72 was really the last year camaros still were relatively unaffected (except compression ratios). I’d personally hold on to it.

But don’t trade even unless it is an absolute perfect 76 that you must have.

I still have my 76 from the day I purchased it new. I still wish it was a split bumper like yours. So, my vote is don’t do it. :).
