    So, what makes it a COPO? It looks like a SS396 to me.

    i mean COPO stuff was having an order big enough that the central office would approve the change as it would still be profitable to gm . the 69 stuff went out in batches to dealers who would commit to a bulk order , then they would sell to smaller dealers . or on the other end it could be a taxi cab order with a strange color . it was nothing more or less than getting the " central office " or detroit to do something to a bunch of cars that will still make them money .
