I am restoring a 1972 Camaro base model with a 307 and TH350 tranny. I know that there were no mods to the engine or tranny since the car has been in our family since purchased new. I believe the factory torque converter should be a 10.7" three bolt, 12" diameter with a 1.703" pilot. The one that was on it has a 9.25" three bolt pattern. Does anyone know why the torque converter would be different from what was supposed to be on it and how would this affect performance? I plan on rebuilding the 307 with a slightly larger cam. I just want a daily driver not a runner but want to know if I should change it out to what was supposed to be on there or what is currently on it.
Thanks.
Thanks.
