1972 ZQ9 Performance Axle Option (4.10 gears).

Hey everyone,

Quick question, were the 4.10 gears option (ZQ9) available exclusively with the 1972 Z-28 trim, or could you configure a SS or even Base Camaro with that option? All the data sites indicate only 652 instances of that particular option, but I wanted to know if it was exclusive to the 2,575 Z-28s build that year, or spread across other trims as well? Many thanks for any feedback.

One would think Z and possibly small block SS only.
The white book says Z only, I assume the engineers thought only the LT1 could handle the revs.
