I should add that I do have several of the 73 standard bumpers with the big guards, just in case. :)

I love the oddity of the 73 Type LT. I do see both sides of the argument tho. The stripes & emblems kinda make the option. IF I ever get to restoring mine, I plan on putting it back to how it was when new. Just because so many of the Type LT/Z28s have been changed over the yrs. As far as the front ends go, I'm the opposite of you Billy. At first I was all RS, but over the yrs I've grown to like the standard bumper just as much. But one of each would be the perfect fix for that...

Yeah, but realistically Z28 was a performance option (engine/suspension/wheels)...not an appearance package.

Technically, I think you are correct. But I also think there's a bit of an appearance package as well with the emblems and the stripes. Neither of those help the car perform, but you got them if you ordered the Z28 option (no Type LT).
Of course, in reality, we all know that stripes make a car faster. ;)

IIRC, the only outward difference appearance wise on a '73 Camaro Type LT and a '73 Camaro Type LT with the Z28 option was the Z had the 15" 5 spoke wheels. Personally, I like that 'stealth' look of the stock '73 Type LT Z28 and no Z28 emblems, but many more did not as putting Z28 emblems & stripes on afterwards was very common.

Correct. If I had a 73 Type LT, I could put the Z28 mags on it and those in the know might think I had the Z28 option.

I've always wondered this. I've heard stories of certain dealers that added stripes. But nothing really specific. Anyone old enough to remember this at certain dealerships?

Since I'm adding the RS to my Type LT Z28 I'm f-ing with things anyway. Maybe I will add a badge of two on there. It looks like none of the cars I've seen, and maybe it's me, do not have the rear spoiler one either. Just the Type LT to the right of the license plate.

If I understand what you're saying correctly, there wouldn't be one on the rear spoiler. A Type LT with the Z28 option wouldn't have a Z28 rear spoiler emblem (it was actually a decal in 73; the fenders and grille still had emblems). No Z28 emblems anywhere.
One thing I really like about the 73 Type LT is the emblem placement on the header panel (for a standard front end), tail panel, and the C pillar. The one on the C pillar reminds me of the Firebirds/Trans Ams.
