I ordered a new 1974 front grille and front grille emblem from Classic Industries. Unfortunately, b/c the grille comes to an angle at the center, there is no way to center mount the emblem b/c the 2 mounting post are dead center on the back of the emblem. If the 2 posts were offset, I might be able to center mount the emblem, unless someone else has a suggestion. I e-mailed Classic Industries and I am awaiting a reply.

The 74 grill is a one year only grill. It has the 2 holes in the center formed into it for the emblem. They are very hard to find and are not repoped. The grill they sent you is prolly listed as 74-77, but is actually 75-77. Watch Ebay n Craigslist. They do pop up every so often.

    Olstyle,

You are right, it was advertised as a 1974-1977 grille, as are most after-market OER grilles, but the emblem is specific for 1974. I will wait to hear back from Classic Industries for their explanation.

Good Luck finding that grill. They go for big money. Besides I could never find one.

It is sounding from your comments, that it will be incumbent upon me to modify the grille to accomodate the emblem.

I'd be curious to know if any other '74 camaro owners came up with a work around on this. I've had my '74 Camaro since 1984 and the grille had been changed out to the 75-77 style some time prior to that but after around 1978-9 when the original owner sold it.

I don’t know the grill and emblem first hand but how about a strong double sided tape ? I used one that had a weight rating of about 15 lbs it claimed and it worked.

Some of that stuff is so strong they use it to hold rear trunk wings on some imports

There’s no surface of significance that the tape method would stick.

There has to be can’t be a blank void. I’m assuming there’s a vertical slant or something. They also make an adhesive, time to get creative.
I added a Chevy bow tie grill emblem from a standard 69 camaro on a 69 camaro rs and the grill are totally different. There never was an rs bow tie grill on an rs usually People would come up and ask about it then I started seeing 638CB38F-83CB-48CC-8117-16A461F68E5C.jpeg a few people with it so I ended up taking it off but anyway I’m sure there’s a way.
