I meant under the grill, between the bumper. But thanks for the pics of the braces. Think i'll make some from metal from the hardware store.

I've never seen a center bumper filler panel, and it's not mentioned in the assembly manual where the sides are. I'm no expert but my vote is the center was never available!

Marking found on front spoiler braces. Only one per brace.

Very nice brace marking. I need to look at the braces I have to see if that marking is on it. Thanks for posting the photo.

yes it was , i knocked my center lip clean off parking ...LOL. ..it was the one piece fiberglass assrmbly valence panel..Around 1976 77. I went to the local small town chevy dealer , he had several centers in stock, i was figuring id have to buy the whole valence panel. He claimed the construction had changed to three pieces in 76 or abouts . the parts guy said the early years were getting whacked off all the time and chevy going to the three piece was meant to resolve this. We dicusssed this indepth in the old z28 thread , you can still browse it , but many pics were photo bucket and have since disappeared. I was just kid of 16 when i dealt with this issue . hoping i got the story right ..LOL...

Haha, I did see the center spoiler section was available itself! I looked through that thread as well.
However I believe what was being asked was if there was a center filler panel between the header panel and bumper, like there is between the left and right headlight buckets. I don't believe there was ever a center filler panel!

[IMG] Here is the GM replacement center section pn. They are soft, not fiberglass. They were available as a field fix since 1975. I found 2 of them but only picked up one. Wish I would have got them both.

I have that along with NOS flares on the shelf. I used the new repop parts as they're very good for a driver. i have an NOS lower valance with the spoiler too. that I'm saving for an emergency as i hear bad things about the repop valances.

I'd like a set of those braces. I was going to make something functional but didn't get that far yet.
