I just bought another 2nd gen, a '76 this time. I have the build sheet and one of the odd things I notice on the build sheet is it was spare tire delete.

I thought in the 70's spare tires were pretty much standard and not an option. Did I forget something in my old age?

I think the spare tire delete came with the space saver spare instead of the full size spare. Does the build sheet have option N65 listed?

I remember that quite well. I bought a new car in '76 and there was a tire manufacturers strike. To keep the production line going, a LOT of cars came without spare tires. It let them keep putting 4 tires on the ground. I was quite annoyed when I opened my trunk after running a nail in a tire to find an empty spare tire well. I didn't tink to check I had a psare tire when I bought a NEW car.
