    Hey guys. i just dropped a 350 in my 1980 Camaro and i installed headers. i have a 2" dual exhaust with magna flows 20 years old.

    Im told i will feel a big difference with 2.5 exhaust from the header collector right to the 2.5 muffflers and out the end.

    I got quotes from local shops $1000 cad installed.

    but i dont think its that hard of a job. i can fabricate. is there a good kit out there that trumps others?

    let me know. thanks

    Pypes makes a nice kit. I did the 3 inch with dual exhaust, x-pipe and out the tail. Was a perfect fit. Need to do some minor adjustments.

    The aluminized Dynomax (Thrush) 2.5” is a transverse muffler, header-back system which has worked very well for me. #289-89021

    It’s been over ten years since I bought this system but it was under $300.(shipped)

    Check a few places... it was out of stock everywhere a couple of years ago. (Good system, good price... hard to keep In stock.)

    If you’re under 400-500 HP a 2.5” system will do Well.

    I used the Summit kit, with Jones mufflers, pretty much a bolt on, I used band clamps to connect everything so it's easy to pull apart if needed..

    I agree on the use of band clamps.

    They work very well if you ever need to disassemble anything because they don’t crimp the pipes like a simple U-bolt muffler clamp.

    Im surprised you cannot but MAGNAFLOW 2.5 kits anymore. I remember when they
    were a big deal some years ago.

    Magnaflow seems to have fallen off as a company quite a bit in recent years. They used to do a lot of innovative stuff and seem to have lost interest

    I was really impressed with the 3" kit I purchased from Pypes. I imagine the 2.5" kit will fit and be as easy to install as my 3" kit did.
