Hi guys. New here, but have had this engine for probably 15 years. It is a 3970010 with the 10 dot clock right next to it on the rear flange, so I am guessing is a Saginaw cast block. The only issue is that I can't find any ID numbers on it except that. The pad in the front on the passenger side is a lot smaller than any other engines I have seen and even though the numbers could have been machined off at some point, it doesn't seem to even be large enough. Any ideas where any other number may be? I have checked on the area behind the oil filter on the outer edge. I attached a picture of the pad in front of the passenger head just so you can see what I am talking about. Thanks.

Here is the clock. It also has 3917291 heads on it, which seem to be 68-69 heads.

I did just happen to be looking on Ebay just for pictures and found some later 70's blocks with the smaller pad, so maybe that's what it is.

That size of pad would indicate that it’s a 1977 up block.

5.7 is metric for a 350, but metric didn't show up until well after Second Gen Camaros. That code probably won't show up on the old lists. Try some site that lists codes for newer vehicles.

The only PLB code I've been able to locate so far is for a 1988 454 truck engine. That doesn't help you. I can't find much information on codes for newer engines.
