Iv got this 350 with flat top pistons. Its a cmj police engine I believe. Anyway, I can get a set of vortec heads for $22 per head and the vortec carb intake for just over $100. What cam should I use, and what can I expect to make for hp if I use and eddy 600 carb?

Heads been modified to handle a performance cam?
If so you can get 400hp with the right combo easy.

I ran a comp xe 274 in a 350 flat tops, vortec heads, in a 70 camaro a few years back.

I had a vic junior and holley 750 but you should be close with your stuff anyway, ran 12.80s at 3200 pounds was a bunch of fun, idle was streetable but nasty sounding. Overall very cool and fun. Id reccomend it.

I found a full vortec engine that has the 906 heads that is supposed to make 350+ hp stock. Its got the roller cam and all. All I got to do is buy an intake and an electric fuel pump and regulator. I can get the engine for $175 with only 130,000 miles.

No stock vortec 350 made 350 HP. 255 HP IIRC was the stock power on the L31 5.7L 350 vortec truck engine
