You got the thing shoehorned in there. The air cleaner almost touches the valve covers.

That’s an original gm drop base corvette/LT-1 air cleaner assembly and an old Edelbrock Streetmaster intake.
Those things are great on 70-81 Camaros too for hood clearance.

Love the car! My SBC Vega in high school was the same color. I painted the hood flat black.
There was a Cosworth Vega sitting in my neighborhood last year...never got to ask the guy what he was gonna do with it before he passed away. Friend had one that he road rally raced circa 1979-80. I had one I bought for $50 from Goldy, guy that ran a speed shop in my hometown. Went through another 2 engines in it during the 18 months I had it, think I picked them up for $50 from a wrecking yard.
