Just picked this up this new to me XCD replacement GM motor from the original owner. Still in the original crate ...never opened! Kind of cool to see how they were assembled with the correct nuts and bolts.
I see that there are a few other cub members that have also latched on to one of these.
The guy I purchased this from also has 3 new Muncie transmissions still in the crate, he's not sue if they are M-20,21 or 22's. When he digs them out ....I'll be on the run!

Any idea how many miles on that engine? It does appear to have been in a car at one time.

Nice find. If this is a zero mi LT1 then you would need to get the scope out to see if the cyl walls are rusted. I wonder if GM set the solid lifters in a crate engine. If so, then you will have some weak springs from being compressed for 51 yrs.
As already stated, the OP one looks used. How used, who knows. You may want to disassemble it.

Here are pics of another XCD that was for sale last yr.

    Thanks Mark,
It's looks close to the same condition of your pictures you have posted, I know the owner and its never been out of the crate.
I don't have any plans for it, so at this time it will remain crated.

interesting. It does look like it's been in a car with some of the light oily spots on it. Great find though
