4th gen Rad and fans

Does anyone have pictures of an early 2nd gen Camaro that is using a 4th gen radiator and fans to cool their LS swap?
Is there any reason not to do this? I am going to be running a stock LS1 / T56 combo and maybe a cam upgrade after I get it running.

I don't have a pic but a car buddy of mine has the 4th gen Camaro radiator/fan combo in a 71 Nova with a 6.0 LS. It has worked perfect. It been city driven in 100 degree weather and it works like a champ.

The LS1 fans cool very well. During a cooling system trouble shooting effort last year, I temporarily replaced my 2 speed Taurus fan with a LS1 fan setup. The LS1 fans cooled every bit as well as the Taurus fan, and that's saying something. Not a LS engine, but a very healthy 383.

I ended up putting the Taurus fan back on when I solved the issue, so I still have the LS1 setup. Too bad you're not close by... I'd sell you mine.... lol.

I used the fans from a late 90's dodge stratus in my ls swap, keep it cool just fine and are a perfect fit with a bit of trimming.

I used a stock gen 2 radiator an gen 4 fans. Very easy install and looks like they made them to fit gen 2 Camaros. I used this setup in my 73 and 70, details on the install are in my build threads, the 73 prob has the best detail.

Is that a modern composite replacement rad for a 2nd gen?
My car had a (I think) 4th gen rad and fans when I bought it, but the fans didn’t fit great at all. Rad was ok. I replaced everything with a ColdCase setup. Cools great, but HEAVY!!

great idea! i have a set of 4th gen fans and shroud i will do the very same thing in my soon to be ls3/75 standard coupe

I run 4th gen fans, work great.

I have read the 4th gen rad neck/cap hits the hood. Not sure though.

I used the aluminum/plastic radiator found in the later 3rd Gens and the LT1 fans. Everything fits like it was made for a second gen.
