Has anyone found any additional information on this shifter?

I'm going with a 4L80E and would like to go with the horseshoe shifter.

    Thanks
    Craig

I bought an adapter kit to enable the original horseshoe shifter to work with the 4L80e that I'm installing along with an LS7. Here is a link to the kits they have for early 2nd gen Camaros. They have the ones for the 4L60, 4L80 and 6L80 towards the bottom of the page.

I have that kit for my 4L85E LS7 in a 79z28 - kit works great with the standard 79z shifter. - I love the stock look

I went old school looking for a 5th gen console. I called the local junk yard. They didn't have one but they told me where one was not too far away. Drove up there picked it up (they pulled it for me) $65 out the door. And I got to inspect it first! Can't do that on ebay!

I had another post where I was thinking about fiberglassing a used stock console I had. It is in my build post...but xten found me one for $100 only missing the shifter boot. Click on my build thread and go to page 36 to see pics of it in my car....looks sweet!

What transmission do you have? I picked up a 5th gen console a while ago and don't think I can make it work. I have a Muncie 4speed in my car and the shifter is offset to the left of center.

Has anyone tried this console with a Muncie 4speed ?

I have a TKO 600 with the Hurst Lighting shifter. It fit almost exactly in the stock location, off by maybe an inch. To get the console in to slide it over the shifter with it parallel to the dash, then drop it down and rotate into place, there is quite a bit of room for adjustment. Take the front plate off and put it on after it is in place.

Ok I dug my console out and set it in place. Here are two photos of the console with the shifter in reverse. Give me your opinion. I'm unclear about what to do about the shifter boot at this time but that's a minor detail. I do like how it looks and it is easy to put in and take out.
