Can someone confirm the torque spec for the 12 bolt rear end u joint straps? I have seen various suggestions of 15-20 lbs., but does anybody have the definitive answer?

Sure, you just have to roll the car a little to get at all of the bolts. The concern is if you over tighten the bolts and crush the trunion caps. I can’t find it in the AIM or the service manual.

You can't crush the caps by overtightening the bolts. The caps sit flush on the yoke.

I went out in the garage and checked my AIM again. That one page I must have missed ten times. Good to know that I haven't totally lost it yet.
