70 Trim Plate Thought’s

I heard this car was for sale .I had to go inquire . I first made a phone call . Was told it was original paint so it looked like it was stripe delete. That was until I got there .Also heard it was sold at Mecum . So hit the highway to go see it . First thing was to look at was trim plate. A picture of the trim plate . Anything look off ?

According to the trim tag, it has black stripes, so not a stripe delete.

Yes that’s correct Gary , and the so called original paint wasn’t citrus green either. But that’s not what I believe I am seeing

How did that trim plate get so clean if the rivets (conveniently hidden by gobs of goo) weren’t removed?

Once removed, it becomes suspicious to me.

Not just 8ODY BY FISHER but 8ODY 8Y FISHER.
My 01C car didn't have any goo in the trim tag rivets let alone that much stuff.
But my tag could be mistaken for "8" rather than "B"

I need to take a closer look when I get back to where that car is.
No way my tag is fake I bought the car back in 78 well before these cars would have been faked.
