From my reading on this forum, I have gathered there could be a difference between 70 Los Angeles and Norwood cars.
Norwood cars often and/or should be expected to have the engine code and partial Vin stamped on the front deck of the block behind the alternator?
But the Los Angeles cars should not be expected to have the engine code and/or partial Vin on the front of the block deck?

Is any of this true, almost true, far from true?

Thank you.

Norwood cars are stamped down by the oil filter rough cast area. Vanuys are mostly behind the alternator on the pad. Although for some reason the big block Vanuys cars can be both, But most ive seen are on the rough cast on big block engines were on the rough cast by the oil filter.

Partial vin only is down by the oil filter. Assembly date and engine code suffix stamps are on the front pad. Both Assembly plants.
Hhhmmmm, so I had the opposite opinion.
So what is by the oil filter on Norwood cars, engine code stamped? Partial VIN?

Any pics of such stamping?
