BaT says: Reserve not met on 11/15/21 at $51,000.
High bidder tried to arrange something with the seller and apparently got burned with the deposit.

You are correct. didn't sell. Gives you an idea of what the seller won't sell it for. Maybe he sold the drivetrain separately? Looked like a re-stamp anyway.

Here is an interesting comment from the high bidder:

"As the high bidder I was able to work out a price that both of us could agree on, assuming the car checked out. When I arrived a week later to pick up the car, the pics and descriptions of everything except the paint were accurate. Unfortunately, the seller did not mention the numerous paint runs/cracking and bare metal that were easily visible. There were a couple of paint flaws shown in the listing, but all of them should have been disclosed. Had the paint been represented correctly, I would not have bid that high or given the seller a deposit that he refused to return in full. I’ve attempted to contact the seller numerous times since returning with an empty trailer, but he’s unresponsive. I hope BAT can do something about this."

Another commenter said the M20 was not original to the car. Guess it doesn't matter now because along with the original motor, looks like it's gone, too. BTW, how do you get a window sticker to look that new?

I'm guessing the seller decided to sell the motor and tranny to recoup some money and was tired of dealing with the originality issues. To me, the Z28 factor doesn't mean much now so I would just buy it as a modified 70 Camaro. I know a guy in Houston that has a 383 with a 5-speed in his 70 and it's a scary ass monster. He gave me one hell of a ride that I'll never forget. Especially when he tore off the highway, down a side street and ripped through a convenient store parking lot with gas pumps a few feet from my face! Lordy, he scared the sh*t straight outta me!!

interesting to follow this car. Am i correct with it having the correct 350 in it in 2017, then somewhere along the way it had a 355 installed, and now has a 383? I dont know nothin, but why ditch the original engine to a z28?
