It don’t recall it affecting engine location fore or aft. Just how high or low it sits.

Not sure about the Z28 mounts, but when i put my big block in, I bought big block mounts and it rubbed on the power steering pulley, crank pulley, and headers hit. I put old 307 mounts back on and everything fit great. stock 307 left, big block right

For clarification....the BBC frame mounts are shorter, but that does not relocate the engine for or aft or vertically compared to the SBC mounts. Using the correct corresponding engine mounts, if you measure the from the mounting surface of the frame mounts to the mounting surface of the engine mounts , they are virtually the same. In 1970 and 71, the Z28 used the same frame mounts as the SS396, (BBC).
