Hey guys
I've trying to find out if the stock TH350 shifter cable will work on a 700r4 conversion. I can't find any info on an internet search. Any ideas?

I think it will work.

You need a different bracket mounted to the trans pan bolts to hold it in place.

And a modified (or aftermarket) shifter.

What Bandit said. While it’s been over 20 years: I bought a shifter conversion kit from Shiftworks, and reused my turbo 350 cable. You’re gonna love that low first gear.

EDIT: upon further thought, I’m pretty sure that junkyard 700R4 came with the TV cable and we re- used that.

I installed a TH700 and used the Orig th350 cable. the Shifter is a problem, but not the cable. ** I really Liked the Original Z28 "Ratchet" Shifter, I could just hold the shifter to the right and bang forward for next gear. Cannot get it to work worth a damn with the th700 ! Has anyone Redone their Orig shifter to work like they did stock (Z28). I've got an extra stock ratchet shifter to experiment on, but if anyone has already done it and explain "HOW" it would be a great help.

Classic Industries sells a kit, p/n SC226, that modifies the stock shifter, and has all the brackets you need underneath to properly attach the cable. I went ahead and ordered a new cable from them as well. Figured why not while I was doing all this. Pretty simple and straightforward job. G-Force makes a crossmember for it. Just got mine, but haven't installed it yet. Good luck!

I found out my factory cable is junk. I took it out and I can't hardly move it even with vise grips. Shiftworks cable is on the way
