I don't know if GM ever released that information. Maybe they didn't keep a record of it. Those numbers are available for the later years of Second Gen Camaros, but I've not found them for the early years.

Well at least I'm not the only one who cant find the info. They surely had to have records somewhere. Not any way to run a ship wouldnt you say.

GM didn’t record combinations of options like that.
    4862 Z28s were produced in 1971.

With 15 different colors available... you can estimate 3-500 Z28s in Sunflower Yellow.

There are probably records of how many yellow Camaros, but not broken down to Z/28’s, SS’s etc.

were they produced equally? I always thought back in the day they were all ordered with specific colors. Yellow may not have been as popular as the other colors hence there would be way less

They were not made in equal quantities. Dealers would place orders to fill their inventories with a mix but it was really up to them as to what they perceived they could sell. Then individuals would come in to the dealer and place their order and could option any color they wanted from the standard colors and even pay extra to special order (on the Trim Tag as XX or -- in the paint area) other colors from sometimes the entire GM catalog of colors.
Seems like I see more Forest Green cars in 70 than any other one color, followed maybe by Citrus Green or Mulsanne Blue or Classic Copper. 71 brought black back as an RPO.

I agree. They seem to be coming out of the woodwork just in the last six months, usually with white stripes.
