73 LS drone

I have a ‘73 with a LS the exhaust i think is 2.25 with magnaflow mufflers the “drone” is driving me crazy. I am not opposed to swapping out the whole system. Interested in what has worked for others. 2.5“ headers back different mufflers etc

An H pipe crossover pipe sometimes does wonders for that, maybe a little bump in power too.

I’m not running cats “yet”, I’m thinking about installing a pair to clean up the unburned gas. I don’t know if they help or hurt

Does it drone ? @ 70mph in 6th on the highway with the AC on you cant Have a conversation, and it’s not loud

If your serious about getting rid of the drone you'll watch these 2 videos. I have done these on a 71 camaro with a full
2.5 kit from magnaflow. Straight through mufflers and 81 camaros and c10 trucks.. The X pipe is your best friend to get rid of the drone. I have a before and after of the xpipe mods. You can see what a big difference sound is. The shake down runs on the 2nd vid give you an idea of how BAD A$$ it sounds. It sounds exactly the same on 2nd gen camaros. I believe I have 2 runs and 1 race on for cussing video. Sounds amazing.
Turn the volume up so you can hear it. If you listen in video there is never drone in the truck no matter how I drive. Same way for the 2nd gen
f-bodies. None of my stuff drones.

Trust me you dont need cats. 2.5 inch system with a TRUE xpipe will give you what you want. I do this all the time
for customers.
