I got my 74 on the scale yesterday. 3850# with driver and full tank.

I'm thinking a good place to put on a diet is the 5mph bumper stuff. I'm not looking to tuck, just make the front bumper bracketry on par with a 70-73 car.

Is it just a matter of welding the slide tubes solid and strip everything else out?

I think I just used self tapping screws on mine when I did it. Lot's of weight savings to be had there.

I think I eliminated over 75 pounds of junk when I tucked my bumpers way back when.
Could've eliminated a lot more but wasn't really worried about weight reduction as much as tucking the bumpers
