Wierd, never seen anything like that on a 2nd gen camaro. Does it bolt to the cowl n ground the hood when closed?

I see it. Some kind of guaranteed ground for the hood when closed, but I wonder why?

New to the Board - My 74 Z28

I have used NastyZ28 pages for several years in decoding 2nd Gen Camaros.

I have owned the following Camaros:

    1. 1976 Type LT (bought new as a senior in high school, wrapped around a telephone pole in 1980). Car was black on black. loaded.

    2. 1975 Type LT with 4-speed. Bought this car last year, started going through it, and realized the car was not worth the effort of restoring. Found a 74 Z28, so.... i sold the 75, and now own

    3. 1974 Z28, light gold metallic 4-speed car. VIN 1F87T4N245113. Trim tag is as follows:

    ST74 1FS87N 276105BDY
    TR 778 A51 53 53 PNT
    08B Z28 BLK
    590109

This car is mostly original, with original paint, hood and rear deck decals (cracked in many places), spoilers front and rear, and Rallye Wheels. Car also has tilt wheel. The engine has headers, Edelbrock valve covers, and an aftermarket air cleaner, but still has the Rochester Quadrajet 4-BBL carb.

    Jimmer,

I added a few more pics to the previous post. The odometer shows 77681 miles. This car was originally sold in Endicott NY be Gault Chevrolet. I do not believe the car ever left the state. The car has very little rust, as both front and rear quarters are solid, inner fenders not rotted out.

I'd rather not divulge what I paid for the car, but I will tell you that the seller advertised the car for $6,500. I did NOT pay anywhere near that for the car. Cash talks when its time to deal!!!
