74, use original 4 speed?

I blew up and cracked my spare Borg Warner super t10 case, third gear broke. Do I use my original Borg Warner case in my 74Z or use another case, Car is original, restored to a day one car. If and when I sell it, would the buyer want the original transmission in the car or just hand the person the original case?

I would want the orig case. If you handed it to him with a hole in it he’ll know you didn’t treat the car nice and may walk away. When we were buying cars in the 60’s and early 70’s, we knew most of them had the piss driven out of them. Buyer beware.

Thanks for the input. Good point. Probably will put back to original transmission and just cruise with it.

So the original transmission is sitting in a corner in good health...a replacement was broken...do you buy a other replacement or install the original? If you’re beating on it, I would just buy another replacement and continue to leave the original in the corner. That being said...you can break anything on the car. If I was that worried about it, I would put the original transmission in the car and put the car in the corner and buy a replacement Camaro to beat on.

I think you can assume that with any sporty car. Even today you looked at used vettes...only 8000 miles! Yeah...we know how that car was driven. 8000 hard miles
