What is correct for a 74 Z28 rocker molding. Did all Z's get the molding with the black underneath? Mines a sport coupe, not an LT.

The thin strip chrome rocker moulding with black underneath was unique to type LT. The wide chrome rocker moulding was on the non-type LT. Whether the car was a z28 or not wasn’t relevant by itself. If your VIN starts out with “1Q” then you should have the wide moulding.

OK, I see the differences. The LT is 3 pieces that actually attach to the doors too. The wide just covers the rockers. That's what came with my car a single piece wide set of moldings. With the wide, there is no black paint?

Would a Sport Coupe Z28 definitely have this trim or was it possible to get it without anything?

Not sure if you could delete order the rocker moldings. I always liked the black paint on the bottom, the car appears smaller.

No black paint. Should be body color.

It would definitely have the wide rocker panel molding. It was not an option. There were retaining strips, clips, screws, and Nelson studs holding the trim on there, so you just couldn't remove the trim without taking off the retaining strips, grinding/removing the studs, filling in holes, and then repainting.

The rocker trim on non LT’s is the same as 70-73 Z28’s.

Clip number is 4510031. There are 6 clips per side.
