I was at an event last night and apparently there was a show going on where this thing transforms. I wasn't able to see it happen though, by the time I found it they were packing up.

I bought this in May, but I finally have my rear end!
I dropped it off at another shop to get my housing ends welded on and it only took them a week.
I'll hopefully have this under my car property in a few weeks. I just wanted to share some progress.

Since I now have my rear end it has gotten me in gear to get the garage more organized after moving in. Most of the work I have been doing has been for the backyard. Which is coming along well. I finished putting in the sprinkler system and will be doing pavers here soon.
While waiting for the grass to grow I got the wheels up off the ground and over the tool boxes

Since behind that wall is cabinets and a fridge, the studs aren't spaced normally, so I have 8 lag bolts going into studs. I hung off of it, it's not going anywhere.

I plan on putting a peg board above the black tool box and clean up that work space, then the shelves will get properly organized since I need somewhere to put the doors for the camaro here shortly as they're only on the car due to transport.

I have a pair of truck doors hanging from the ceiling. Lag eyebolts into the truss and the doors tied up to them. Good for future projects that won't be used for a while.

There was a recent thread here complaining about chemical strippers and how they suck now because the government isn't letting you kill yourself. I looked into it a bit further trying to find good alternatives to the old stuff and I'm too cheap to just pay someone to media blast my car.
I found a few choices over seas that would probably work great but had a high upfront cost. Then we have good ol' aircraft paint remover. Looks like they made a new formula that works almost as well as the old stuff according to some video reviews.
It's not meant to be sold in California, but that sure as hell didn't stop me from trying to buy it....and the seller shipped it without a thought so not my problem.

Hopefully it works well, I won't know until it gets a bit warmer so I can epoxy whatever test panel I use around the same time.

I COME WITH GREAT NEWS
The entire reason why I spent roughly 12k on my rear end, to fit my rear rims without rubbing
I didn't fck up my measurements

BAD NEWS
the torque arm doesn't fit and my dad and I are convinced that they made it wrong
there is no way in hell this thing will fit, it's way too long
I will contact Chassisworks on Monday to figure out how long this thing is actually meant to be, as we had to unbolt the lower control arms just to get that one bolt in, and we're still a 1/4" off in the rear. This would then push the rear way too far away and put the pinion angle way too high.

We're confident that we didn't install anything else wrong as all the shocks, watts links and the control arms puts the axle in the correct location.

Aside from that, we got everything else we wanted to get done today. Installed a plug for the welder (properly this time)
and got the doors off the car again to ship the hinges to https://www.hoodhingerepair.com
Threw the fenders on my shelves, and it's easier to pull the car away from the wall on my own since we threw the bumpers in under the car when I first moved in. They're now in the shed.

I can finally sell my 10 bolt, open dif, anyone have a rough idea what I might be able to sell this for?

Here is what the axles look like with the hubs installed (brakes not required)

I am at my wits' end with this torque arm.

Most of this install has been nothing but problems, and it really should have no reason to be most things bolt into factory locations that have no variation, the only possible install error would be where the shock mount bracket gets welded on to, but thats not even a big deal as there is only one reasonable location it goes to.

But my god, this arm is FAR too long with all the supplied components needed to get this to work

The subframe connectors bolt into the front leaf spring mount, no modification required, the cross member that the torque arm bolts to connects directly with the subframe connector.

None of this has anything to do with modifications I would make, or was required to make. These are all factory locations in all 70-81 camaros

if the arm is bolted in "correctly" the wheels are pushed so far back it looks like you broke your axle.

Right now I am being told the issue si all the variations between the subframes in the 2nd gen car on why this is an issue, and I can't fathom why I'm being told this because it has NOTHING to do with this install. the front subframe is not a necessary component for this to work.

With the wheels position correctly I can't even get the torque arm to bolt into the cross member, it sticks too far out

Currently I am being told to get thme a measurement so they can tell me how to cut up my arm. I don't want to do that, nor should I have to do that, YOU need to fix YOUR product because clearly something was made wrong somewhere down the line. This is not on me. Own up to it

I don't get it. Chassisworks was supposed to be first rate stuff. I don't understand why they don't explain to you how to take the measurements they need in order for you to send the torque arm back to them for them to modify/fix ... and they pay shipping, because I bet that thing wasn't cheap in the first place. Very poor customer service, as far as I'm concerned.

right? I went with them because it looked like the best torque arm you can buy, I have spent over 12k on my rear suspension to basically be told to pound sand. Frankly this is unacceptable. I am offering to bring my entire car directly to their facially so they can look at everything and I'm being told no and buy more stuff.
