Doing a frame-off on a 77 Z28 and it's getting ready to head to the body shop. I have done a little research and I am getting conflicting info and need a little help. Are the filler panels between the bumpers and the body color matched to the car or are they left black? Mine on the front have never been painted by the looks of them, however the back ones look to have primer and black paint on them. I know for a fact that the car has been hit on the drivers side quarter and a gm panel put back on, leading me to wonder if those fillers were painted during that repair, or from the factory. I don't know a lot about these cars, but want to keep this car correct since it is a one-owner (until me) 60K mile car. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

As you can see on the top pic, I cleaned the one on the bottom as a comparison.

On mine they are black, not body color. It is an original paint car.

    I believe black is correct.

By saying black, are they painted black, or black rubber/plastic?

Black plastic only no paint or body color plastic, if they are primed and painted it was done to freshen them up not factory.

I agree they are black plastic from the factory.

Yep, black plastic/rubber. They are not painted.

I just glass beaded mine and put them in natural. I think they are natural but I'm honestly not sure.

I you want to keep the color ,you can always paint them in semi -flat clear. Its your car.
