Looks like you caught it too. I didn't have to blow up the picture to see it either.

I also see a lot ofvertical wear mark on the lifter body. That's caused by severe side-loading. If the lifter is dropped in incorrectly, it will roll, and the engine will turn fine by hand. But the roller is scrubbing across the cam lobe about 15degrees off parallel. The lifter body shows marks where the link bar was scuffing across the machined upper body portion. That link broke at it's weakest point because there was side loading and it fatigued. It won't last long with a lifter twisted in the bore. The metal is heat-treated and hardened. It will not tolerate any bending loads without failing. The lifter failed because the builder dropped the lifter in wrong and the link was causing the lifter to sit cockeyed in the bore. The builder needs to own up here.

I disagree, it's run its course and Howards was vindicated.

The OP needs to chime in with an update and an apology. I'd like to hear from the engine builder as well but we all know that will never happen.

Well, the reason I say deleted is because I myself have sometimes been in a hurry to check online rep of a company, so I google, find a thread like this, read the OP and maybe a couple posts following it, then decide on that. The OP should be updated with bold lettering stating that this problem being Howard's fault was debunked.

I also agree that the thread starter should update and apologize to Howard on here for posting this thread.

I think the guy that posted this thread isn't going to give Howards an apology, He has had plenty chances to do so and he refuses to do so, He still hasn't faced the fact that the prob was the install plain and simple.

I would also like to know how this caused 12000.00 worth of damage?

Great minds think alike... so how did you think this up?

I, as well, would like to see the OP come back, but looks like that's not happening.

Fortunately, the answer to the alleged issue was identified immediately. EDIT-I deleted a few posts so that the responses could follow up right behind the allegation. Just a clean up for search results.

I'll lock this, if an interested party would like to respond, PM me so that I can unlock it.
