Hi All

I'm slowly working through the rust repairs on my 70 Z28 leaving the A pillar till last.

I'm after some photos showing the area at the bottom A Pillar and as well photos of how the cowl/dash finishes at the A pillar.

Here is what I'm working with.

Cheers Chris

The cowl piece is reproduced.

Buy the whole thing and use what you need.

The “A” pillar looks like it can be cut and patched.

Getting the window channel “right” is critical.

Do you have a welder?

Chris, if you send me your email address, I can send you some photos of my 70Z dash. Almost the exact same rust! My body man did an amazing job with it! Never know anything was done. Our vins are only about 4,000 off from each other!

i had the exact same rot, had a lot of reservations when i looked at it beings ive never done that, replaced panels. thought well cant learn how its done if you dont do the first one. so off came the dash piece and 2 of the a pillar pieces, luckily the main one was in good shape so i didnt have to seperate the roof from the body. piece of cake and alot of fun, i wasted more time thinking about it than doing it. fun to cut the spot welds out and spot weld the new on. theres a a pillar kit available that worked out great. each kit has 3 pieces for each side.

Cheers Doug m, i didn't know those panels were available.
I'm in two minds about replacing the cowl panel, my main concern is getting some rust treatment in there. I have a cavity spray nozzle so planning to use that once I've finished the rust repairs.
