It’s often that people buy products then ask questions later when it should be the other way around. Why is that? I never buy anything until I analyze it b/c usually it turns out to be a waste of $ then you have to sell it for less than you bought it for. Hmmm.

Just a thought. Later ‘74 z28s (starting 04C) have a twin snorkel air cleaner WITH the HEI dent.

'74 Z had Q-jet which won't bolt to Edelbrock 7501 w/o carb spacer ... Just sayin ... and the air cleaner base may not fit a Holley carb without modifications.

Also, did you add the 73 radiator overflow canister since 70 didn't come with one?

These are from the Chevy performance catalog... from 2016. Hopefully still available. Maybe the black low rise might work for us. None of these state whether they would work with HEI. But wouldn't the open element ones be a smaller diameter than a closed type? Since the diameter of the metal ends at the edge of the 14" element? The closed units would have to be larger diameter right? Sure would have been nice if there was a "NOTE" about clearance on the low profile unit. I guess if the 12342080 clearance is 3.75", then the low profile should/could be less.

And good luck finding one. Even Repros don't seem to market specific years, nor state whether they are HEI friendly. And if you find catalog pics, many don't show the underside. Some do but don't count on it. I'm wondering if the Corvette dual snorkels might work.
