alternator wiring question

    Question I have is getting tired of having to charge my toy in between runs at the track.is there a easy way to wire in 1. It doesnt have any of the stock wiring. (Strip only not street legal.) I know to jump the red 1 to the back. And run it to my source. Do you have to have the spot for brown wire hooked up

    Yes, run the brown wire from a switched 12V IGN source-you can tap directly off the ignition switch and be sure to solder a 50-75 ohm resistor inline on that wire. This should be the simplest way to wire an SI type alternator for your application.

    Dunno what your budget is and how serious your car is but there are some pretty compact/simple race only alternator setups out there. Depending on what you're running and usage you could potentially get away with a 40amp unit
