Hey guys, need some info. The cam in this motor is only 254/268 at .050 and .613 .630 lift at .050 with 108LSA, It DOES NOT want to idle below 1300-1350 rpms, is this a problem? ive tried everything possible with this old 750 Dominator and cant get it any better or smoother. What do you recommend??
Timing is 25 initial and 35 full, all in by 2,000 rpms... have a 6.5 pv in it right now and it smells rich, but wont idle at all if i turn screws in any more.. Power Valve blown??
If the p/v was blown or opening from lack of vacuum, it would be so rich it won't idle, but the idle screws won't have any effect either, since the fuel is coming from the p/v.
But...might want to check the vacuum and see if you need a lighter p/v.
ok got it to idle finally, was a blown power valve!, Still wont idle below 1300 or so, I can put it in drive and it holds 1100-1050 or so but still wont hold its own idle in park or neutral below 1300. This cam is considered small isnt it?

still smells like an intake leak. you have another carb to try on there??
I guess Matty just had a vacuum leak in his intake manifold. thats a REAL toughie to find.
Dont have another carb to try, wish I did.. All I want for christmas is a 900CFM pro systems and bobs nitrous shtuff.....
On the other hand, i do have a 600CFM single inlet vacuum secondary but would be stupid to put it on, LOL...
