The Solstice was yesterday and days will be getting longer but I can't wait for Spring!

It was -12 degrees this morning (15 MPH wind made it feel MUCH worse) and I had to go clear the driveway this evening for the fourth time in a week.
Shoveling the deck is going to wait for a little warmer weather.

It's going to be a white Christmas for sure! (This stuff isn't going anywhere for a while.)

Folks in the Midwest and out East... Stay warm and safe this Christmas weekend.

This is some serious cold!

Stay safe and stay warm Terry !!

I'm just seeing the first part of this Artic cold front here in Middle Tennessee with strong winds and light rain . Weather reports saying it'll start snowing within the hour and temps plummeting fast . Temps will be as low 5deg by midnight tonight

Not much snow in Oklahoma? Maybe because there is not a lot of water. Here in Michigan we get a lot of what they call "lake effect" snow, from the Great lakes. And of course Minnesota is the Land of 10,000 lakes.

We're in Central Texas, just northeast of Austin. Took the 73Z out for a drive yesterday. It was about 54 degrees. Today was about the same temp till noon. Then it dropped like a rock. 6:30PM CST, sun is down and it's 22 degrees. Temp may drop to 12 and wind chill to 6. No snow. This sucks.

We currently have a lot of the green blob, with a little of the yellow blob, hanging over us. Lots of the blue blob coming at us.

Winter here started in mid-November this year. An early storm came though here and dumped 2 feet of snow. After that, it stayed cold so the snow didn't melt. This past week, this new storm came through here with another 2 feet of snow dumped on top of November's 2 feet. So, this is what we look like now.

Now the snow has moved east to the rest of you folks and behind it the cold air from the arctic arrived. The temperature here has been below 0 day and night since Sunday. This morning my thermometer showed -25 degrees and we had winds up to 40mph. I guess the wind chill chart would put the "feels like" temp somewhere lower than -25.

And, tonight and tommorow night are supposed to be even colder.

The good news is that by Sunday warmer temps are supposed to arrive again.
